Chiara Concini
Legal Researcher
Chiara Concini
Chiara is a JD student in her second year at the University of Alberta’s Faculty of Law. She joined Sankoff Criminal Law in May 2023, and will be working part-time conducting legal research for our team while she completes her legal studies.
Chiara enjoys learning about all areas of the law, but is especially passionate about criminal law. This year, Chiara served as a volunteer on the Criminal Project of Student Legal Services where she assisted low-income individuals with their criminal charges. She also volunteers at the Elizabeth Fry Society where she provides assistance to women who have come into contact with the criminal justice system.
Chiara is bilingual and completed the first two years of her undergraduate degree in French before being accepted to the Faculty of Law. She volunteers with the Association des juristes d’expression française de l’Alberta to provide legal presentations to Francophone high school students across Edmonton.
In April 2023, Chiara and her moot partner won the Right Honourable Beverly McLachlin Moot (Dean’s Cup), awarded to the top 1L moot team, which was focused on criminal law. Chiara is passionate about advocacy and looks forward to the opportunity to participate in other competitive moots as she enters her second year of law school.
