Matthew (Matt) Browne is working in association with Sankoff Criminal Law. Based in Calgary, Matt assists clients throughout Alberta. He has appeared at all levels of court in British Columbia as well as the Provincial Court of Alberta.
Prior to law school, Matt obtained a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Alberta. After graduating, Matt worked as an engineer throughout North America and Southeast Asia. Matt’s engineering background is of great assistance when dealing with complex forensics issues.
Matt received his J.D. from Osgoode Hall Law School, where he focused on criminal law and advocacy. In 2019, he was a member of Osgoode’s International Criminal Court Moot team. He volunteered with Fair Change Community Service, an organization that helps street-involved people address their provincial offence tickets. He also completed summer work terms with Animal Justice and the Department of Justice.
Matt completed his articles in Victoria, British Columbia. After articling, Matt worked as an associate with a prominent criminal defence lawyer. Matt has assisted clients charged with violent offences, driving offences, property offences, drug offences, firearms offences, and administration of justice offences.
Matt practices criminal law and animal law.
